2nd wave of EURAD

The EURAD Strategic Research Agenda is designed as a dynamic and living document that should be updated periodically in order to integrate new RD&D outcomes as well as any emerging needs for cooperation during the implementation of the Joint Programme.
In the course of work during the first year of the EURAD project, the need to deepen research in certain areas was identified and work began on the development of proposals for the 2nd wave of the project. A short list of additional areas of cooperation was developed, which was agreed by the Bureau of EURAD, and those responsible for these areas were identified.
New directions of RD&D:
1. Storage and disposal containers (Container performance).
2. Monitoring during RAW management (Monitoring).
3. Mechanical aging of cement-based materials (MAGIC).
Expansion of existing directions:
1. Uncertainty management in multi-actor networks (UMAN).
2. Radioactive waste management routes in Europe from generation to disposal (ROUTES).
At the moment, the collection and analysis of proposals from EURAD project participants on the list and scope of work in new and expanded existing directions has begun. Final proposals are planned to be formulated by the end of 2020.
The joint actions of the project participants within the 2nd wave of the EURAD project aim at developing an expanded program of cooperation between all participants and stakeholders in the future.
